Nested List Weight Sum with Depth Multipliers | Dataford Interview Questions

Nested list weight sum: every depth level multiplies the numbers in the list (Meta-tagged variant).

Asked in the onsite coding stage. Given a nested list containing integers and lists, return the sum of every integer multiplied by its 1-based nesting depth.

Contract

Implement depth_sum(nested_list). The input is a list whose elements are integers or nested lists. Return an integer. An empty list contributes zero.

Constraints

The total number of integers and lists is at most 10^4
Nesting depth is at most 1000
Integer values are between -10^9 and 10^9
