MoM Growth Rate Query

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Write a query to find the month-over-month growth rate of active checking accounts at Axos Bank.

Use the account product type and monthly account status snapshots to calculate the metric. Include only months with a directly preceding month available for comparison. Rows with a NULL product type or status are ignored.

Output

  1. One row per month with a preceding month in the data.
  2. Columns: month_start, active_checking_accounts, prior_month_active_checking_accounts, and mom_growth_rate_pct.
  3. Report the growth rate as a percentage rounded to two decimal places, ordered by month_start ascending.
