Model Conversion Rate in SQL

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Given a table of candidate applications with application_date, status, and region, write a SQL query to find the conversion rate from application to hire by month and region. Use the candidate_applications table. Treat applications with status = 'hired' as hires and exclude rows without an application date.

Output

  1. One row per month and region, including regions with no hires.
  2. Columns: month, region, application_count, hire_count, and conversion_rate, where conversion_rate is the hire percentage rounded to two decimal places.
  3. Order by month ascending, then region ascending, with NULL regions last.
