Minimum Cost of ropes: connect all ropes into one with minimum total cost

Asked in the Problem solving round stage. Given a list of rope lengths, repeatedly connect two ropes. The cost of each connection equals the sum of their lengths. Return the minimum total cost required to produce one rope.
