Merge Two Sorted Arrays

EasyPython

Problem

Given two sorted arrays, merge them into one sorted array.

Asked in the phone screen stage. This is very similar to Merge Sorted Arrays, with edge cases such as empty arrays.

Contract

Implement merge_sorted_arrays(nums1, nums2). Return a new array containing every value from both inputs in nondecreasing order. Do not modify either input array.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(nums1), len(nums2) <= 10^5
  • Each input array is sorted in nondecreasing order
  • -10^9 <= nums1[i], nums2[i] <= 10^9
  • The input arrays must not be modified
