Median of Two Sorted Arrays

HardPython

Problem

Median of Two Sorted Arrays (LeetCode 4)

Asked in the coding stage. OP confirmed in reply that the coding problem was LC 004.

Task

Given two sorted integer arrays nums1 and nums2, return the median of the combined sorted values without explicitly merging the arrays.

Implement def find_median_sorted_arrays(nums1, nums2):. Return a numeric value, using the average of the two middle values when the total length is even.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(nums1), len(nums2) <= 10^5
  • len(nums1) + len(nums2) >= 1
  • nums1 and nums2 are sorted in nondecreasing order
  • -10^6 <= nums1[i], nums2[i] <= 10^6

Function Signature
