Your question is Managing Scope and Capacity. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

Problem

Do you prefer a developer role or a project management role?

Asked in the interview stage for a Program/Project Management Lead role on a Japanese AMS account. The candidate answered that they preferred development but were open to project management work.

The interviewer is assessing career direction, role alignment, adaptability, and whether the candidate can explain how their strengths transfer between technical delivery and project leadership. A strong response is direct, balanced, and specific about the work that motivates you, while demonstrating genuine openness to the role being discussed.
