Your question is Legacy Technology Challenge. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

You need to log in / sign up to chat or submit.

Problem

Describe how you would handle a task that requires working with legacy technology.

Explain how you would first understand the system, assess risks, clarify requirements, and decide whether to preserve, isolate, improve, or replace the legacy component. The interviewer is probing for practical judgment, ownership, communication with stakeholders, and the ability to deliver safely without dismissing technology you did not choose. Address how you would manage uncertainty, document constraints, test changes, and seek help when necessary. A strong response should use a specific past example in STAR format, distinguish urgent delivery from longer-term modernization, and include a measurable result or clear evidence that risk was reduced.
