LeetCode Under Time Constraints

MediumPython

Problem

How do you solve LeetCode-style coding questions under time constraints?

Implement a prioritization function that turns observed problem signals into an ordered interview strategy. The input is a list of signal names, and the output is the recommended sequence of actions. Recognize known signals, preserve the fixed priority order, and ignore unknown signals.

Function: def choose_next_step(signals):

Return a list containing each applicable action at most once.

Constraints

  • 0 <= signals.length <= 10^4
  • Each signal is a string
  • Recognized signals are drawn from the six supported action names
  • Unknown signals must be ignored
  • Each returned action appears at most once

Function Signature

def choose_next_step(signals):
