Highest Paid Employee Per Department

EasySQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Data Axle needs a department-level compensation report. Write a PostgreSQL query that returns every employee whose salary equals the highest non-null salary in their department.

Requirements

  1. Use the department and employee data to identify the highest salary within each department.
  2. Include all employees tied for the highest salary.
  3. Exclude employees with null salaries and departments without qualifying employees.
