Your question is Handling Misaligned Stakeholder Demands. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

You need to log in / sign up to chat or submit.

Problem

How do you handle a situation where a key stakeholder demands a feature that does not align with your product strategy? Explain how you assessed the request, communicated your position, and decided whether to adapt the roadmap, defer the feature, or decline it. The interviewer is probing for strategic judgment, respectful conflict resolution, and the ability to use evidence rather than authority. A strong answer should describe a specific situation, competing priorities, your actions, the outcome, and what you learned.
