Your question is Global Database Schema for Multi-Region. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

You need to log in / sign up to chat or submit.

Problem

Design a database schema for a three-tiered architecture to serve North America. Follow-up: now extend it to South America and Canada while keeping latency the same.

Asked in the Role Related Knowledge stage. This is a live whiteboard and verbal architecture design exercise; the interviewer questions decisions and adds scenarios. There is no single correct answer, so justify the schema, partitioning, replication, and routing choices.
