Fourth Maximum Salary Query

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

How would you write a SQL query to find the fourth maximum salary in a table?

Treat duplicate salary values as one rank and exclude employees whose salary is NULL.

Output

  1. Return one row containing fourth_maximum_salary.
  2. Return the fourth-highest distinct non-NULL salary.
  3. Return no rows if fewer than four distinct non-NULL salaries exist.
