Find Letter Sequence in Array Objects | Dataford Interview Questions

FloQast Close Management may represent a short event stream as an array of objects, where each object contains one letter. Given this array and a target sequence, return every starting index where the target appears as a contiguous sequence, including overlapping matches.

Formal Specification

Implement find_sequence(records, target).

records is a list of dictionaries. Every dictionary contains a letter key whose value is a single-character string.
target is a non-empty string.
Return a list of zero-based starting indices in ascending order.
If the sequence does not occur, return an empty list.
Matching is case-sensitive.

Constraints

1 <= len(records) <= 10^5
1 <= len(target) <= 10^4
Each records[i]["letter"] is a single-character string
Matching is case-sensitive
Overlapping occurrences must be included
