Find Duplicate Dataset Entries

Find Duplicate Dataset Entries

EasyPython

Problem

Write a script that identifies duplicate entries in a dataset.

Implement find_duplicates(dataset), where dataset is a list of hashable values. Return a list containing each value that appears at least twice, once per value, ordered by the position where its duplicate occurrence is first detected.

For example, ["A", "B", "A", "C", "B"] returns ["A", "B"]. An empty dataset or a dataset with no repeated values returns [].

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(dataset) <= 100000
  • Each dataset entry is hashable
  • Return each duplicated value exactly once
  • Preserve the order in which values first become duplicates
