Find Departments with High Expenses | Dataford Interview Questions

Appzen Expense Auditor needs a simple report showing departments with unusually high submitted expense totals. Treat any department with total expenses greater than $10,000 as unusually high.

Write a PostgreSQL query that summarizes the expenses table and returns only departments above this threshold.

Requirements

Group expense records by department and calculate each department's total expense amount.
Use HAVING to retain only departments whose total exceeds 10000, then sort the results from highest to lowest total.
