Fetch and Process Data from Workplaces

MediumPython

Problem

Describe how you would implement a script to fetch and process data from active workplaces for Clipboard Health, covering data sources, reliability, and transformation steps.

Implement process_workplace_sources(sources). Each source contains an available flag and workplace records. Ignore unavailable sources, keep the newest record for each workplace ID using ISO timestamp ordering, retain records whose latest status is active, trim names, and return records sorted by ID. The output record must contain only id, normalized name, and headcount.

Constraints

  • 1 <= sources.length <= 100
  • The total number of records is at most 10^4
  • Each workplace ID is an integer
  • Each record has an ISO 8601 UTC timestamp in lexicographically sortable form
  • Each record status is either active or inactive
  • Each headcount is a non-negative integer
  • Workplace IDs are unique in the returned result
