Your question is Expected Value and Dice Games. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

You need to log in / sign up to chat or submit.

Problem

Tell me about how you would compute the expected value for rolling a die, and for a game where you roll two dice.

Assume each die is fair and six-sided. For the two-dice game, interpret the outcome as the sum of the two dice, and show both an outcome-enumeration method and a linearity-of-expectation method.
