Ensuring Data Quality with Large Oracle Databases

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Explain how you ensure data accuracy and quality when working with large Oracle databases.

For this hands-on SQL exercise, use the provided PostgreSQL tables to flag transaction-level quality issues. Check invalid amounts, missing or blank references, duplicate references, and missing account or customer relationships.

Output

  1. One row per transaction with the columns transaction_id, transaction_reference, account_id, customer_name, amount, issue_count, and quality_status.
  2. Include all transactions, label rows with one or more issues as ISSUE, and label clean rows as VALID.
  3. Order by issue_count descending, then transaction_id ascending.
