Employees Earning More Than Managers

EasySQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Arcesium's workforce reporting team needs to identify employees whose compensation exceeds that of their direct manager. Write a PostgreSQL query using a self-join on the employees table.

Requirements

  1. Return the employee's name and salary, along with the direct manager's name and salary.
  2. Include only employees whose salary is strictly greater than their manager's salary.
  3. Exclude employees without a manager, employees with equal salaries, and rows where either salary is NULL.
  4. Order the results by employee name in ascending order.
