What is a dot product?

Implement a function that computes the dot product of two numeric vectors. The vectors have equal length, and the result is the sum of the products of corresponding elements.

Input: Two lists of numbers. Output: One numeric value.

Constraints

1 <= len(a) = len(b) <= 10^5
Each element is an integer or floating-point number
The result fits within the numeric type used by the implementation
