Problem

What is a join in SQL?

Asked in the Aptitude Test stage. Listed under Round 1 together with git commands.

Write a SQL query that associates each employee with the matching department name when available.

Output

  1. Return one row per employee with employee_id, employee_name, and department_name.
  2. Include employees without a matching department, using NULL for department_name.
  3. Order by employee_id ascending.
