Here is a code snippet. What is wrong with it, and how would you fix it?

Write a function that processes every element in nums exactly once and returns the sum of all values. The function should handle empty arrays and single-element arrays correctly.

Function contract

  • Input: nums, a list of integers
  • Output: an integer sum of all elements

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(nums) <= 10^4
  • -10^9 <= nums[i] <= 10^9
