Problem

The Figma Design team receives engagement summaries for component variants from multiple experiments. Because several records may describe the same component and variant, combine duplicates and rank each variant by its engagement rate.

Implement summarize_component_engagement(records).

Formal Specification

  • records is a list of dictionaries. Each dictionary contains string fields component and variant, plus non-negative integer fields views and interactions.
  • Aggregate views and interactions for records with the same (component, variant) pair.
  • Define engagement rate as total_interactions / total_views. If total views are zero, the rate is 0.0.
  • Return a list of dictionaries with fields component, variant, views, interactions, and engagement_rate.
  • Round engagement_rate to four decimal places in the returned output.
  • Sort results by unrounded engagement rate descending, then total interactions descending, then component ascending, and finally variant ascending.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(records) <= 10^5
  • Each component and variant name contains at most 100 characters
  • 0 <= views, interactions <= 10^9
  • interactions <= views for every input record
