SQL for Data Extraction

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Can you write a SQL query to extract specific data from a dataset for a Curinos analytics use case?

Use analytics_accounts and account_transactions. Include active accounts and consider transactions dated from January 1 through March 31, 2025.

Output

  1. One row per active account, with account_id, account_name, segment, total_transaction_amount, and transaction_count.
  2. Include active accounts with no qualifying transactions, showing zero totals.
  3. Order by total_transaction_amount descending, then account_id ascending.
