Implement a Data Class With Features

MediumPython

Problem

Here is some data - create a class for it and implement a few features on top of it.

Asked in the first round technical stage. The one-hour interview was described as creating a class and implementing a few features with data provided, rather than solving a LeetCode problem.

Implement DataCollection for records represented as dictionaries with a unique id. Support adding records, removing by ID, filtering by an exact field value, sorting by a field, and counting records by a field. The helper run_operations(records, operations) must return one result per operation.

Contract

  • records is a list of dictionaries.
  • Operations are dictionaries using add, remove, filter, sort, or count.
  • Return records as dictionaries, booleans for removal, lists for filtering and sorting, and dictionaries for counts.
  • Preserve insertion order when filtering and stable ordering for equal sort keys.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(records) <= 10^4
  • 0 <= len(operations) <= 10^4
  • Every record contains a unique integer or string id
  • Referenced fields exist for sort and count operations
  • An add operation does not replace an existing ID
  • Filtering uses exact equality
