Your question is Credit Card Metrics. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

Problem

Using credit card transactional data, calculate metrics such as what percentage of customers are regular customers, along with profit/loss calculations.

Asked in the Technical interview stage as a case study on credit card transaction data.

  1. Define a regular customer using transaction history and state the observation period.
  2. Calculate the percentage of regular customers.
  3. Calculate transaction-level and aggregate profit or loss using available revenue and cost fields.
  4. Explain assumptions, edge cases, and how you would validate the results.

Data available: Customer identifiers, transaction timestamps, transaction amounts, transaction status, fees or revenue, and transaction-related costs.
