Your question is Concurrency in Java and Thread Pools. Take a moment with it on the right.

Talk me through your thinking if you like. When you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes).

You need to log in / sign up to chat or submit.

Problem

How do you handle concurrency in Java, and how do thread pools work?

Asked in the Round 1 (Director) stage. Director round covered multithreading, concurrency and thread pools alongside design patterns.

Explain how you would protect shared state, coordinate tasks, size and configure an executor, and diagnose failures such as deadlocks, starvation, queue buildup, and task cancellation. Include practical Java APIs and the tradeoffs between platform threads, ExecutorService, CompletableFuture, locks, and concurrent collections.
