Compute 95th Percentile

EasyPython

Problem

Given an array of server response times, how would you find the 95th percentile?

Implement the function below using the nearest-rank definition: sort the values, compute ceil(0.95 * n), and return the value at that one-based rank. The input is a non-empty list of numbers, and the output is a number.

Function

def percentile95(response_times):

Constraints

  • 1 <= len(response_times) <= 100000
  • 0 <= response_times[i] <= 1000000000
  • The input contains numeric response times
  • Use the nearest-rank percentile definition
