Coding Approach With TDD Tradeoffs

MediumPython

Problem

Tell me about how you balance speed and quality when using TDD, and what limitations you consider when synchronizing.

Implement synchronize_test_results to merge two test-result collections. Each result has an id, version, and status. Keep the result with the higher version, copy results present on only one side, and mark equal-version results with different statuses as conflicts.

Input: Two lists of dictionaries. Output: A list sorted by ascending id, containing dictionaries with id, version, and status.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(local), len(remote) <= 10^5
  • Each result contains integer fields id and version and a string field status
  • Test IDs are non-negative integers
  • Versions are non-negative integers
  • The output must contain at most one result per ID
