Client-Server Video and Text

HardPython

Problem

Create a client and server that send each other video and text.

Implement simulate_exchange(client_messages, server_messages) as an in-memory exchange. Each input is an array of message maps with type, timestamp, and payload; type is "video" or "text". Return one array containing every message, annotated with its sender as "client" or "server", ordered by nondecreasing timestamp. Preserve input order for messages from the same sender, and place client messages before server messages when timestamps are equal. Do not drop or modify messages.

Constraints

  • Each message has type, timestamp, and payload fields
  • type is either "video" or "text"
  • Messages within each input array are ordered by nondecreasing timestamp
  • 0 <= client_messages.length, server_messages.length
  • The total number of messages is at most 10^5
  • Payload values are treated as opaque and must be preserved
