Problem

Business Context

Meta's VP of Sourcing oversees recruiting pipeline health across engineering, product, and business hiring. Every Monday morning, they want a dashboard that quickly shows whether sourcing is generating enough high-quality candidates to hit quarterly hiring goals, and where the funnel is breaking.

Metric Scenario

Last week, Meta had a quarterly target of 1,200 hires, with 430 offers accepted quarter-to-date versus a plan of 480. Recruiters report that top-of-funnel activity looks strong: 52,000 prospects added to Meta's CRM this quarter, 18,200 outreach messages sent last week, and a 41% prospect response rate. However, only 2,900 recruiter screens were completed quarter-to-date, 1,050 onsite loops were completed, 620 offers were extended, and offer acceptance dropped from 74% last quarter to 69% this quarter. Engineering hiring is furthest behind plan: 210 accepted offers versus a target of 280. The VP wants a Monday dashboard that distinguishes signal from noise, highlights leading indicators, and helps prioritize action by team, region, and funnel stage.

Requirements

  1. Define the core weekly dashboard KPIs you would show the VP, including one north-star sourcing metric and supporting leading and lagging indicators.
  2. Explain how you would structure the dashboard so the VP can diagnose whether the issue is volume, quality, speed, or conversion.
  3. Identify the most important cuts of the data to review every Monday.
  4. Call out 3-4 alert thresholds or trend views that should trigger escalation.
  5. Describe which metrics should be shown as weekly values, rolling 4-week trends, and quarter-to-date versus hiring plan.
