Build a Request Intercept Proxy

HardPython

Problem

Build a lightweight proxy server that intercepts API requests, injects authentication headers, and logs payloads asynchronously.

Implement proxy_requests(requests, auth_token) to process request dictionaries without opening network sockets. Return forwarded requests in input order and payload logs in that same order, while using background workers for logging. Each request contains method, url, headers, and payload; each forwarded request must preserve all fields while setting headers["Authorization"] to "Bearer " + auth_token. Return {"forwarded": [...], "logs": [...]}, where each log contains method, url, and payload.

Constraints

  • 0 <= len(requests) <= 1000
  • Each request contains method, url, headers, and payload
  • headers is a dictionary with string keys and values
  • payload may be null or any JSON-compatible value
  • The input list and its request dictionaries must not be mutated
  • The returned forwarded requests and logs must match input order
