Welcome to your interview.
The question is on your right: Balance Speed and Quality Under Pressure. Take a moment with it first.
Talk your thinking through with me if you like - when you're confident, submit your answer and I'll grade it like a real screen (7/10 or better passes). Discussion and graded submissions share your five interviewer interactions, so spend them well.
You are leading an engineering effort where the team has a clear delivery target, but the remaining work is not fully de-risked. A faster release would help meet a business commitment, yet it could also introduce defects, rework, or operational risk that the team would own after launch. The interviewer wants to understand how you think about the trade-off, what you optimize for, and how you communicate the decision.
Describe a time when you had to make a trade-off between speed and quality. How did you decide what to do, and what was the outcome?
