Automate with Your Programming Language

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

What is your preferred programming language, and how have you used it to automate a manual task in a Citi-style data workflow?

For this SQL exercise, use the workflow review data to identify repeated exception patterns. Write a query that returns only task types with more than one exception review.

Output

  1. One row per task type with repeated exceptions
  2. Columns: task_type, exception_count, last_exception_date
  3. Ignore rows where task_type is NULL
  4. Sort by exception_count descending, then task_type ascending
