Array Pattern Transformation | Dataford Interview Questions

Write a function to manipulate an array to find a specific pattern or perform a transformation.

Implement wave_array(nums) to rearrange the integers in place so the result satisfies nums[0] <= nums[1] >= nums[2] <= nums[3].... Return the transformed array. Any valid arrangement is accepted. Use a single pass when possible.

Input: A list of integers nums.

Output: The same list after transformation.

Constraints: The input may be empty, may contain duplicates, and may contain negative values.

0 <= nums.length <= 10^5
-10^9 <= nums[i] <= 10^9
The transformation must preserve all array values
Any valid wave arrangement is accepted
