API-Powered Object Creation

EasyPython

Problem

Code Craft: given pre-written functions acting as APIs, use them to create a new object and return it.

Asked in the phone screen code craft stage. Implement build_object(payload) using accessor APIs that retrieve the payload's id, name, and attributes fields.

Input and Output

payload is a dictionary with keys id, name, and attributes. Return a new dictionary containing those same keys and values. The returned dictionary must not be the original payload object.

Constraints

  • payload contains exactly the keys id, name, and attributes.
  • id is an integer.
  • name is a string.
  • attributes is a JSON-compatible dictionary.
  • The returned value must be a new top-level dictionary.
