SQL Anti-Join Queries

MediumSQL · PostgreSQL

Problem

Given two tables, write a query to return records present in one but not the other using different join types.

Return only records whose record_id exists in exactly one table. Show the identifier, each table's record name when available, and which table contains the record.

Output

  1. One row per record found exclusively in records_a or records_b.
  2. Columns: record_id, a_record_name, b_record_name, and present_in.
  3. Sort by record_id ascending, then present_in ascending.
