Over the course of several weeks, I talked to a number of people and felt like the interviews themselves went pretty favorably. I liked preparing and I followed up afterward, expecting at least some kind of confirmation or next-step update. Instead, the process started to feel chaotic—not because the conversations were unclear, but because the follow-through was.
After multiple rounds, I kept waiting for acknowledgement that I’d been considered. Often it was radio silence: no feedback, no indication of progress, and no recruiting communication that matched the effort I’d put in. At one point, I even reached out repeatedly because I believed I was moving forward, and it still went nowhere.

I got far enough to realize the process itself was the problem. The recruiter interaction felt positive at first, and there was even a warning that their technical test wasn’t going well. If I didn’t, it felt like I was quickly ruled out.
What really knocked me off balance was the lack of clear communication and alignment between roles involved. It wasn’t just vague feedback—it felt like the process didn’t have a consistent plan between the hiring manager and everyone else, and that uncertainty added stress on top of the test.
