I experienced Zoox’s process as thorough and stretched out, and a big surprise was how long the feedback cycles could be once the interviews started. The early stage included an online screening that felt harder than some of the other online assessments I’d done elsewhere. From there, the loop moved into multiple rounds and, overall, the structure was very complete—so complete that it ended up taking months to hear back after applying.

Once I got into the interview day(s), the rounds felt like a mix of increasingly advanced questioning across several technical domains, not just one narrow track. I remember sessions that touched multiple areas like math/science topics, coding, and critical thinking. The coding portion itself was difficult and very specific, and I also didn’t get much advance warning about what technical details were going to be tested, which made the preparation window feel less controllable than I expected.
