After a recruiter outreach, I moved into a pretty straightforward early loop. I was asked to talk through my previous work and what I’d do in certain scenario-based situations. The technical part felt more “test” than “research chat”: I had a live coding-style prompt that was fairly easy compared with the later material.
Soon after, I hit an online round with math-focused questions that leaned on probability-style thinking, plus some light coding. One part that stood out was that the assessment was explicitly geared around math and probability rather than niche probability/theory topics, and I didn’t really feel like they were probing deep combinatorics or statistics the way some tougher places do.

Difficult Positive Yerevan, Yerevan
My process started with a long, heavy math assessment. I was given a fairly high-pressure test with lots of choice questions, and the math felt like university-level material—high-school / Olympiad-adjacent in how it framed things. The difficulty ramped quickly: I remember thinking the early questions were manageable, then it got genuinely hard, and the whole session had a time box that made every step feel consequential.
After that, I moved into interviews that doubled down on probability. I had multiple in-person conversations focused heavily on probability, alongside a mix that still felt quant in spirit even when it wasn’t strictly theory—there were also programming elements in the overall loop. Eventually I completed a take-home assignment where I had to work on a longer task, then present my findings.
