My interview journey started with what I expected to be a balanced mix—half behavioral and half technical—but it turned into almost entirely behavioral. In that first 30-minute conversation, I went through the standard story questions like “tell me about yourself,” why the firm, why investment banking, and why my industry group, plus a few more behavioral prompts about how I’d led and worked with people.
After that, the process moved toward a fuller day of interviews that centered on fit plus leveraged-finance style thinking. I had rounds where the technical side was valuation-focused, including questions about valuation methods and the pros and cons of different approaches, and I also got LBO-related mechanics. The interviews overall were conversational—more discussion than interrogation—and the structure felt consistent with what they wanted: show you can reason through valuation and LBO concepts while also explaining your motivations clearly.

Average Negative London, England
After an initial HR screen, my process moved into multiple rounds of interviews at their office, and it felt fairly structured. I ended up with a case study round and then followed that with more interviews, with most of the conversation taking place in person.
The content leaned into both fit and the investment-banking skillset, but the parts that stuck with me were the case study and the general impression that the team wasn’t hiding what they wanted to see. I also remember the logistics and communication being a little frustrating: the feedback I received was shallow, and follow-ups didn’t really go anywhere.
