I moved forward to a long take-home design assignment in Python for a relational database, and then into live interviews where they scrutinized my work pretty intensely. In one of the later conversations, the critique started to feel condescending—like they were less interested in my reasoning and more focused on what they didn’t like.
The next round included a harder LeetCode-style question where I struggled to land the full solution. I asked clarifying questions during the attempt, but the interviewer went mostly silent for long stretches, only resurfacing as the clock ran out. After I wrapped, I never got the kind of closure I expected—no response, no real acknowledgment, and later follow-ups didn’t lead anywhere.

I got pressed to talk through optimizations and specifics tied back to the assessment, not just high-level answers. The overall vibe was professional enough that I could tell what they wanted, but the way they handled the conversation felt blunt at times, especially when they dug into my resume and personal context. Even so, I left the technical portion feeling like the work made sense and my answers were aligned.
