Average Neutral San Jose, CA

My interview started with a C++ fundamentals walkthrough. The interviewer asked about smart pointers—what they are, how they’re used—and then shifted into concurrency topics. We talked through how to approach the producer–consumer problem and what the right synchronization mindset looks like.

After that, I got a coding problem that felt very systems-oriented. The setup described a server with a fixed capacity for supporting requests within a time window, and the task was to implement a class that decides whether the current request can be accepted based on available resources. The solution direction was the token bucket algorithm, and the question was clearly aimed at checking both correctness and an understanding of the rate-limiting model.

Average Positive United States

My process felt straightforward and fairly supportive. I started with a recruiter and then ended up doing a regular coding interview on HackerRank, where the interviewer was polite and the vibe was encouraging rather than combative. After the coding portion, I had a short resume deep dive—about 15 minutes—where we went back through my background.

The technical screen itself ended up being a LeetCode-style medium problem. I initially struggled, but when I asked for clarity I received helpful hints and was able to work through it. I remember thinking the interviewer was friendly and supportive throughout, and the conversation made it clear they preferred C and C++ for the coding parts.
