I had only three rounds total for the SDE II process, and the structure was pretty clear from the start: a DSA-focused first round, then a system-design round, and finally a managerial or fit round. I cleared the first round, and then I was just waiting on what the next rounds would actually emphasize.
What was slightly confusing was that the invite I saw for the second round said “system design,” but the recruiter I spoke with described it more like “LLD plus CS fundamentals.” That mismatch was a small mental speed bump because I had mentally prepared for classic system design, not the fundamentals-heavy framing.
