My interview process felt broken in how the HR side operated. The technical rounds themselves were more structured: one round covered basic Java knowledge plus data structures and algorithms, and the interviewer there was humble. The next technical round went deeper into advanced Java topics and API designing. The final technical stage was system design with additional advanced Java questions.

What didn’t match the technical quality was how the HR communication and timing played out. After the offer discussion and expected compensation details, the HR team called only twice and then went silent for a long stretch. Finally, I received an email claiming I wasn’t reachable, as if that justified moving forward with someone else. The whole situation felt chaotic and ego-driven rather than professional.

My interviews stretched across multiple rounds and started with a HackerRank coding challenge. After that, I moved into whiteboard-style problem solving in two technical interviews, where one felt more senior-level than the other. Then the process continued with a manager round followed by a director-level conversation.

What surprised me was how similar the problem-solving style stayed even as the difficulty ramped—coding challenge first, then increasingly “real-time” discussions at a whiteboard. The hardest part wasn’t just the questions themselves, but having to explain my reasoning while solving and troubleshooting. Even when the topics were technical, the sessions felt anchored in how I approached debugging and narrowing down solutions.
