I went through three interview rounds with an initial HR phone screen. The HR conversation was essentially about my past experiences. After that, the first round was a DSA-focused interview.

The second round was more theory-based, with language-specific questions tied to the team’s tech stack. Then the third round was supposed to include system design and behavioral. The interviewer told me I came across as too junior for the system design component, so the round ended up focusing only on behavioral.

I had a pretty incomplete picture going in—when I scheduled an onsite, all I knew was that they were going to be technical interviews. Even the initial framing of what to expect wasn’t very detailed, so the first part of the experience was mostly about waiting for the actual structure to show up in the conversations.

There was also a lot of curiosity around the coding challenge difficulty within the broader process. I heard that the loop could include HackerRank challenges and wondered how hard those were supposed to be, because that’s the part that tends to separate a quick pass from real struggle.
