I went through Virtusa’s process for a QA automation tester role and it left me pretty deflated. My interview ended up getting rescheduled twice, and when the discussion finally happened, a lot of what I was asked didn’t feel aligned with the job description or the kind of QA automation work I expected to be evaluated on. The interviewer also mentioned they hadn’t reviewed my resume beforehand, which made the whole thing feel like it wasn’t planned carefully.

On top of that, the meeting itself felt disorganized. The first scheduled interview didn’t even start because the interviewer didn’t join, and when I was brought back the next day, it was with a different interviewer and no clear explanation for the change. The conversation also felt impersonal—no camera on the interviewer’s side—and they seemed distracted during the session. The technical part leaned heavily toward very specific trivia like writing XPath expressions, instead of covering broader quality engineering topics such as automation strategy, working with developers, or how testing fits into Agile.
