Average Negative United Kingdom

I had a process where everything seemed to go well across multiple rounds, and I genuinely believed I was in a good spot. The early interviews went smoothly, and even the vibe with the recruiting team felt organized—there was none of the toxic pressure I’d experienced elsewhere, and the conversations felt more like friendly dialogue.

The problem showed up at the end. After I reached the stage where I expected an offer or at least an update, the communication deteriorated. I ended up chasing for a final decision, and I was eventually told they no longer planned to hire for the position. Another time, the interviews had gone positive as well, but after a competency-based round there was radio silence for weeks, with follow-ups that either stalled or suggested internal approvals were still pending. In a different run, I also went through the full interview path and still didn’t get an offer, even when I’d received outstanding feedback—then learned they weren’t taking on juniors at that time.

Difficult Positive London, England

I applied online and heard back from an internal recruiter a couple of days later. The first interview was recruiter-led and covered career aspirations, work history, and compensation expectations, with a noticeable emphasis on values and how my background matched their view of fit. There was then a pause of about one to two weeks before the next stage, and once it started it moved through several rounds quickly.

My second round was technical with a practice lead, focused on my work history, side projects, and how I framed my career plans. The third round was face-to-face technical, including a whiteboarding session and discussion about what the company was doing at the time. After that came an HR phone conversation where they went through the psychometric test results and tied feedback back to the earlier rounds, again circling back to values and how I behaved in situations—covering both strengths and weaknesses.
