Average Positive Basking Ridge, NJ

My interview experience centered heavily on my background and communication rather than a long sequence of deep coding problems. I went through a stage where I was sorted into teams based on what I put on my resume and the skills I discussed, which made the whole early process feel resume-driven.

After that, there was a group discussion stage, followed by a technical conversation that was tightly tied to my projects. I was asked to walk through parts of my resume and explain what I’d built, and then we touched on some basic machine learning topics. The technical round didn’t feel like I was being tested on brand-new material; it felt more like they wanted to see how I connected my experience to the concepts.

My process was short and straightforward. I spoke with an interviewer who asked simple technical questions alongside some behavioral questions. The technical side leaned into networking basics—things like how to configure VLANs and how to upgrade switches, routers, and firewalls.

They also asked about the tools I had experience with, so it wasn’t only theory; it was “what have you actually used.” The behavioral questions were mixed in, but the whole interaction stayed approachable.
